The worst storm I've ever seen rolled through Cincy last weekend and flooded my basement. I've taken care of it but it's starting to get mildewy down there. Of course, that's where my wine is located.

Two questions:

1. The mildew can't do any harm to the wine right? That's what corks are for -- right!? Someone reassure me, please.

2. Anyone have any good solves for a mildewy basement? I'm scrubbing the hell out of it but I'm not sure that will do the trick.

The basic trick to getting rid of the mildew is to get the place warm and dry (the opposite of what you want for your wine I'm afraid). Mildew loves cool damp places.
