| Hello
Following interest in Wine Spectator Top whatever lists (and now I see on this board), the following list may be of interest.
I run an Australian Wine Bulletin Board, sort of like this board. The Top 10 wines below come from polling the many people on that board, mostly consumers, but also the trade.
The Top 10 for 2002 are, in order
1) 2000 Brokenwood Graveyard Shiraz(Most popular Red) 2) 2000 Majella Cabernet 3) 2002 Mesh Riesling (Most popular White) 4) 1999 Leeuwin Est.Art Series Chardonnay 5) 2000 Tyrells Vat 47 Semillon 6) 1998 Seppelt St Peters Shiraz 7) 1999 Moss Wood Cabernet 8) 2002 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 9) 1999 Houghton Gladstone Shiraz 10) 2000 Mt.Mary Quintet
an interesting list, and one that I think is pretty close. As with all of these I could argue wines here or there and positions, but a pretty good list, and from a knowledgable consumer's point of view.
Thought it may be of interest.

| Unfortunately the only one I've seen around here is the Leeuwin Art Series Chard. It's great. | | | |

| Although I am many thousands of miles further away than Gavin, in my last trip through the Barossa I had a hard time finding a good barrel sample of a 2000 shiraz. That certainly colors the picture for 2002 releases. On the other hand, Noon made a reserve cab in 2000 and not 1999. Go figure.

| Gavin, Since many of those wines are new to many of us, it would be wuite helpful to see approximate prices of the wines on your list. Thanks in advance. | | | |

| I have seen both the 1996 & 1999 Moss Wood Cabernet for sale in a few shops around here. They are both going for about $45. The Majella 1999 was a great bottle of wine and I recommend this to anyone, have not tried the 2000 yet. Thanks for the info. | | | |

The 2000 Majella is better IMO than 1999, and the 2000 Majella Malleea is spectacular.

| What about Grant Burge Filsell or Meshah......Both amazingly elegant wines with layers of complexity.
