an interesting thread is growning over on ebob that i thought would be interest here as well.

vintage blending

i would love to hear people's opinions on this, especially from our local resident wine makers from napa.

imo it seems like a bad idea except for your everyday grocery store wines.

It is often done when there is no topping wine left. I thought that the Califronia regulations only allowed 3%, but I could be wrong. I think a minor amount to save a barrel from oxidizing is OK.

let me restate my opinion. i agree with the original law of 5% or less. anything more is borderline fraud imo.

I was just impressed with the ebob thread beacuse somebody was using footnotes. Now that is serious wine discussion.
