| | 2005 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet (outstanding quality for a villages)
2001 Gruet Pinot Noir Cuvee Gilbert Gruet (used to be an interesting curiosity from New Mexico. Now its only suitable for using as the base for pinot noir essence) 2002 Dry River Pinot Noir (Last April a few bottles of this New Zealand cult were spectacular. Unfortunately this bottle was decidedly off - I poured it straight into the composter. I have a few bottles left from the original case so hopefully this is an anomaly.) 2006 Bressler Pinot Noir (quite fine (the bottle disappeared quick) and matched well with noisettes of goat from Marin Sun Farms. Fruit tends toward the darker end of the spectrum. Interestingly the bottle was labeled as coming from Angwin.)

| | Decided to kill a singleton I found in the cellar tonight: 1994 Plumpjack Cabernet, surprisingly, still going strong. Interestingly, the label claimed 12.5% alcohol - when is the last time you saw that from a "higher-end" CA CS?
