2005 Ancien Pinot Noir Russian River Valley - Seriously good stuff.

Jason, was the 2001 Dunn drinking OK? I heard that recent vintages were better at a young age...

tanglenet...something is strange about a cork marked with a different vintage...

2004 Roar Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard

Tough game last night for your Tigers.  It was all or nothing for me in my pool - alas nothing  .   Hope the "Roar" wine was good.

It was exceptional.  Not Incognito but better than many previous SQN Grenaches like Icarus, Ventriloquist, and the 02.  A bit monolithic at this stage of development.

2006 Casa Lapostolle Cabernet. An island of refuge on a miserable wine list.  I am finding that more and more, this producer offers safe haven is these circumstances, both white and red.

Beta testing a new signature.

I sent an email to the winery and also sent one to the retailer asking for any information.

Last night: 2005 Cap de Faugeres - it was surprisingly forward, the tannins are there but are well integrated
Tonight: 2001 Revana Family CS I picked up at a charity auction for $25, showing better that the first bottle I tried but will never be an impressive drink

05 Selby Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
of the brighter, crisper (strawberrry rhubarb) style of PN
02 Peterson Floodgate Vineyard Pinot Noir
darker, thicker cherry-cola style; not giving me the barnyard and earth I normally get from the Peterson.

Dan - any comments about this one?  Did it at least perform better than you would have otherwise expected.

JT - The Egly was interesting. Almost brassy in color, much bassier then "normal" Champagne with a heavier mouthfeel, lower acidity and tons of bottom end. Interesting though not sure I would want to drink a whole bottle.

Saut - 2001 Dunn - I wouldn't call it early drinking by any means. Very well structured and built to last.

Sips at work:
1994 Stony Hill Chardonnay
2004 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Echezeaux
1977 Mondavi Cabernet
1997 Luce
1986 Wynn Cabernet Sauvignon
1997 Penfolds RWT
1994 Chateau Mouton Rothschild

2004 Peter Michael "Ma Belle Fille" Chardonnay.  Excellent wine, but not so great as to get me to reconsider dropping them. Just too expensive, and there are lots of PM alumni out there making wine at other places that are just as good if not better.

Beta testing a new signature.

Escaping the cold of Fargo and in Vegas for 2 nights for work. At a friends house last night, a strange combination.

1999 Claude Dugat Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru - Wow, excellent wine.
2005 Ridge Mazzoni Home Ranch - Interesting follow up, seemed extremely sweet when tasted after the Dugat

2001 Clos Les Lunelles - not aging as well as I'd hoped. My other four will go down over the next year.
