| Man, good stuff. Intense purple, nearly staining the glass. Make sure to brush after this or your teeth may be permanently stained. Amazing nose of cassis, and the palate delivers on the promise. Extremely thick, mouth coating. Very dark berries & cassis along with a hint of Cocoa. Wife loves this as well. 92+ Won't open another for 6 months. Needs some time, but is great fun right now. | | |

| Randy, Did you have the '01?? If so how would you compare the two?? Trying to decide if I should pop for some '02's. Sounds like the answer is yes. | | | |

| Had dinner with Lisa and Les Behrens in Oct04, and she brought a few bottles of the '02. An awesome and full wine that's a nice step up from the 01. Fruit was still pretty prominent, but you could see that it's got the capacity to soften behind the tannins and really mature into a nice wine. At this price point ($45), it'd be hard to go wrong.
Now that the '02s have shipped, I know I should let these sit for a while, but I'm tempted to look for an excuse after a few days of rest...!

| WineLibrary has it for $42 as part of a case discount. I picked up a couple. | | | |

| Dark in color with loads of dark berries, casis, chocolate, cedar and vanilla. Round in the mouth with all of the above and oak. Slightly hot, with sweet tannin and a moderately long finish. Prefer to the 2001, didn't have the 2000. | | | |

| I believe the winery price was $45. The only shop that had it on basic wine-searcher is asking $60. | | | |

Bud is correct so if you can get it for around $45.00 a bottle or less jump all over it. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

| cool, that's my plan. thanks for the help. i loved the 00 so i signed up for the list. i heard the 01 wasn't as good because iirc they sourced the grapes from somewhere else. therefore i passed on the 01 and they kicked me right back off the list. | | | |

| I disagree with most people on the 01. I think it was just "different". I struggle with the term but maybe a bit more "austere"? | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| Here are my notes from 4/24/05 after picking my wine up from Francoise Peschon in St Helena. 02 Drinkward Peschon This is some serious wine, perhaps the best you will find for the price or for that matter, even 2-3 times the price. In regards to the comparisons between the years, Franciose said that the fruit for the 00 and 02 are similar and better than the 01. Therefore if you liked the 00, the 02 will make you happy. Super project between Lisa and Franciose but very limited production. Just enough for people to get to enjoy a few bottles of this great wine. Cheers.... | | | |

| OK, I didn't make it six months. So sue me.
All of the above, along with an amazing balance. This is great wine. 93 points. Considering the price point, this is one of the most screaming deals in california wine. I recently had the Foley Claret, and in a blind taste test this might outdo the foley.
The color is amazing. Like a mixture of chocolate and grape juice - a very vibrant red. Flavors are intense, in your face. Wow.
