1995 Merryvale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve -- this wine has turned out to be a bargain (I think it was around US$35 when I bought 3 bottles on the recommendation of a wine shop clerk in Sonoma in 1998). Still dark, with a terrific nose of berries and milk chocolate; sweet, rich fruit showing lots of cassis, blueberry, chocolate flavors with hints of pepper and cinammon; long, fruity finish with some gentle tannins still to shed. Absolutely delicious! Can probably go a couple more years yet. App. 91-2 pts.
