I had this wine last night at Blue on Long Beach Island. This was a wine that I tasted at Wine Cask and it really is the first CA Sangiovese that I thought was very good. I ordered 6 from Wine Cask, recieved tham 2 weeks ago and now they have settled. Bruno D'Alphonse is the maker of this wine and he also works for Sanford in Santa Barbara. I believe he is also the boyfriend of Kris Curran of Sea Smoke fame.

Wine was not decanted, but served over 2 hours and evolved nicely at the 1 hour mark.

Color is a deep, but moderately clear ruby-purple core with a hint of water at the rim. Aromatically, very pronounced dark fruits, freshly cut flowers and some tar. In the mouth, this wine is medium to full bodied. Very well balanced with the tannins integrating better at the 1 hour mark. Delicious mouthful of black and blue berries, McIntosh apple, toast and scorched earth. Moderate length finish. This wine is drinking very well right now but will benefit from 1 to 3 more years. jb Rating 90. QPR A. I paid $14.50 each but I think you might be able to buy it for $18. Very well done.
