| 2005 MacPhail Pinot Noir Sangiacomo - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (1/31/2008)
A little stinky - smells sort of like a touch of dirty socks.. Maybe some very slight bacterial spoilage or wild yeast taint. My friend would declare the nose to be "French". Med. red ruby color and the rim is glowing red. This looks quite young. The palate is quite rich with lots of red fruits with some complexity in the medium length finish. No alcohol showing through at all. Classic California Pinot (except for the nose). (90 pts.)
