| (I know, I know...it's a little young) 2006 Loring Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir Tasted over a period of 36 hours. Day 1: Unscrewed and immediately poured a small sample into Reidel Sommelier Burgundy stems. Dark purple hue. Quick swirl revealed an extremely reticent nose. Waited about 90 minutes and swirled again. Although still not showing much, this time I did notice more aromas that centered around the earthier vegetal aspects of Pinot. Medium bodied and elegant in the mouth, with initial impressions of red berries and spices (maybe nutmeg). Nice tannic backbone. Day 2: Nose still playing it close...but nonetheless more forward with spicy, fruity aromas taking over. Much more fruit on the palate with flavors of under-ripe strawberry, cherry and some cinnamon and nutmeg. Anyway, I'd wait at least 12-16 months before trying this one again, over that time it should certainly improve. People who enjoy an elegant Pinot should enjoy this. Vine 87.
