| Shipment just arrived today, so I coulddn't resist popping one these and giving it a try. The color is surprisingly light for a Zin, a medium garnet. The wine has a very interesting and unusual nose, a bit grapey, with bright red fruits and accents of herbs and spice. Balanced and polished on the palate, this is not your heavy handed Zin, but a more light style, with fine tannins, racy acidity, and nice texture, with a pleasing long finish. In a sense this is drinking a bit like a barrel sample at present (to which I rightly or wrongly attribute the grapey aspect), and I think letting these rest a short while may be in order. All in all a very fine effort, and a remarkable value. Great job Ed! | | | 2008: the end of an error |

| Wow ! That didn't take long. Thanks for the note.
I'm still waiting for my Sandler to arrive. Did you receive any notice when the wine was shipped ?

| Confession: I popped one last night too. I agree with Eric's tasting notes. When I first looked at the cork it barely had a red stain on the bottom. When pouring it into the decantaur I commented that Ed must have filled these bottles with Pinot. It's like Eric wrote, very light and delicate looking.
After a while in the glass, the flavors really pop out. Even though it's not my preferred style of "Carlisle, knock your socks off Zin", I really enjoyed the complexity of the wine. Now that my curiosity is satisfied, I'll lay the rest down for awhile.
Tim
