| 2003 S.P. Drummer Blair Vineyard Napa Valley Red Wine 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Cabernet Franc. Popped and poured. Dark garnet purple. Restrained nose of black fruits & current with a slight vegetal note. Full bodied, very jammy & fruity - full of plums, currant, some cedar, and a spicy herbaceous note on the finish most likely from the high percentage of Cab Franc. Fine tannins are barely noticeable but are definitely there. Not very complex, but would probably go great with steak. Probably should have decanted...or left this monolithic 2003 in the cellar for another 2-3 years in the cellar. Not a bad deal in the under $50 crowd (well, at least for a Napa Cab blend!).
