| Moderate nose of black cherry, black raspberry, dried red fruit and orange rind. Full body, moderate complexity, moderately low acidity, low tannin and long length. Apricot, dry red fruits, plum, black cherry. Seamless and long, coming around nicely, Kistler stamped all over this one. 90pts.

Jason, it looks like you had this not so long ago. We had it last night @ the suggestion of a few folks with orange (sauce) duck. While the combo worked well, the wine was underwhelming. I did think it was a 92 pointer, so it is hard to label a wine "underwhelming" @ 92 points. It is a fine bottle of wine. Though, considering that Kistler Vin is 1 of their top vins, on a great year, with the price tag ... thus, I say "underwhelming". Enjoyed the wine overall, but did not get blown away by it in any way.
Decanted 1 hour or, consumed over 2 or so, plenty of air time. There is no rush on it @ all. It may even improve some (or not). I don't see that much improvement in it. So, 1 can drink or hold. Or, based on my score & Jason's score - sell. :-) | | | |
