from the BAWE 1yr anniversary tasting, June 1st 2003

ok, so I may be somewhat biased on this one, since I brought it, but I was tremendously pleased with how well this 19 year old was showing from a 3L. Deep red color with barely a hint of bricking, excellent soft nose of ripe plum, dusty cedar, and chocolate. Rich, ripe, and still powerful on the palate with soft warm tannins, good acidity, and a long finish. 93 points, and it could have held for another few years. My wine of the night!

I liked it a lot, too. I thought that this could go on for many many years. Based on this, I would think the 750 of this would be at its peak. We had a lot of wine that night. Good thing I wasn't driving.
