this bottle was the best of the 3 siduri pinots i have had so far. wonderful fruit on the nose & palate. a dark brooding pinot, thick, rich & mouthcoating. a very nice balance of fruit & acidity. i didn't try to pick out any specific flavors on the night i drank this, i just enjoyed it . i'd give this 94 points. i suppose it might get better with age, but i don't know how, or why one would want to wait, because it is delicious now. having said that, i anticipate seeing a review if this & the other '01 siduri pinots in the june 1st edition of oenofile with a more expert evaluation, especialy regarding the ageing potential & the optimum drinking window.

i had rather odd experiences with both the '01 sonoma coast & the "01 santa lucia highlands. luckily, i have more of each & will try them again soon. i will post notes when i do.

This is clearly the best wine in the Siduri portfolio. I rated it at 93 points and it was my only purchase at Siduri that day. I bought a magnum. Actually would have bought some Santa Lucia also but blew the wad at Martinelli the day before.
