Tasted June 30, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel tasting glass. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black berries, toasted oak and white pepper. Later some potpourri. Flavors of red cherries, raspberries, cocoa and a touch of bitters. Medium acidity, medium tannins. Medium bodied. Drink over the short term. Based on the local retail price of $19.54 I’d say the value here is acceptable. (87 pts.)
