Raspberry, blackberry, and earth tantalize the olfactory sense. There may be an ever so slight a hint of acetone, but this certainly does not overtly distract from the overall pleasant fragrance emanating from the glass. The wine gained considerable weight over the next few hours we enjoyed it. Dark fruits, earth, a touch of spice balanced against a backdrop of sufficient acidity round out the palate finally culminating in a satisfying but not overwhelming nor exceedingly long finish. I suspect it would have benefited from some time in the decanter. This was my first Loring, so I unfortunately do not have much to offer in comparison to their other offerings. I look forward to the fall mailer, and I’m happy to have 2 left which I will let sleep for a while. (90 pts.)
