| these wines were two of four i drank last night with my work wine buddies. all four bottles were from reverie. i first must state, i have always enjoyed their wines, but found they tend not to be good qpr's. i took no notes, so the opinions are general.
1995 reverie cabernet diamond mountain-dark purple, very nice nose. medium to full body, good fruit which was well integrated with the tannins. a very good finish and a nice wine. a little more complexity would have pushed it to excellent. i believe this wine went for $30-35 at time of release. rp88, me89.
1995 reverie cabernet diamond mountain special reserve- the big brother of the cab. similar, but everything was bigger including much more concentration, complexity, and finish. this wine was much better than i remembered the last time i tasted it. drinking very much like a st.julien. at release this wine went for $55-60. i bought some at auction for about $42 including commissions. rp90,me92-93

| This is funny. I bought the '95 about a year ago. I will tell this funny story.
I agree on the Ratings for this Wine. I gave the Diamond Mountain(Reg) about a 90 & your TNs are right-on. Good Wine. That's all.
Here is the funny part: I go into a Store (about a year ago) & see the '95 for $30.00. Other stores had it for about $50.00. I buy 6 bottles & tell the salesman, "WOW, still $30.00, not bad."
Should have kept my BIG mouth Shut. I come back next week, they are selling it for $45.00. I skip this time.

| | winebrat-the special reserve still has plenty of time left. the regular reserve could probably go another five years, but i think it will be best enjoyed sooner. | | | |
