• 2004 Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir La Bauge Au-dessus Bien Nacido Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley (9/1/2008)
  Stopped by my parents house for Labor Day, Dad already had this one open. Medium to dark crimson. Forward aromas that really reach out to smack you in the nose with delicious Pinot aromas of cherry, raspberry, and spice. Medium body. In mouth the flavors are somewhat muted compared to the big nose...........but what you do taste is very nice, the red fruits complimented by spice and an underlying minerality that gives this wine a decent spine. Good acidity, would work perfectly with food - grilled salmon perhaps? All-in-all, a huge step up from Au Bon's basic Pinot's. (89 pts.)
