WIML90,PURPLE92,NOWA,WS79
Tasted April 8, 2006 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Rot Wein glass. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of mixed dark fruits, cherries, cassis, black berries, forest floor and spice box. Flavors of red cherries, raspberries, strawberries and Chinese five spice powder. Ready to drink now but should hold into 2009 fairly easily. Decant only for sediment which it does contain at this point. Value is agreeable.
Shaking my head in confusion at the Wine Spectator review of this wine. (90 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. |

Tasted June 10, 2007 at home. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Underlying nose of dill with aromas of Kirsch, potpourri and saddle soap. Flavors of red berries, strawberries and a little red currant. Light to medium acidity, tannins and body. Ready so drink now with just enough air time to blow off any bottle funk. (90 pts.) | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

Tasted March 11, 2008. Opened and served immediately. Could be decanted for sediment next time. Purple color in the glass, still fairly clear hue throughout. Nose of black currants, melted black licorice, raspberries, sliced plums and a hint of white pepper. Flavors of black berries, plums and raspberries. Light to medium acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Drink over the short term, maybe medium term but I'll be drinking my two remaining bottles by the end of this year. No reason to hold them; ready to go. (90 pts.) | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.
