  Tasted March 1, 2006 at home with a dinner of grilled steak. Opened and splash decanting before serving immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black cherries, saddle leather, violets and cinnamon. Flavors of Bing cherry, cassis and earth. Firm tannins up front but the wine really started to show well at the two hour mark. Retry again in one year with a one hour decant time. (92 pts.)

Opened and served immediately. Dark garnet color in the glass, slightly cloudy looking. Nose of currants, plums, violets, berries and cherries. Flavors of boysenberries. cherries and red plums. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink now. (90 pts.)
