2003 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Flax Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (2/17/2006)Very Dark.
Initially very strange. prickly and almost effervescent. the nose was even "pointy". disjointed. only had a glass and vacu-vined it and picked something else to drink that night.
next day it was better, had 2 glasses.
3rd day it was very good. it had calmed down to a rich forest floor type nose ans taste, with some spice intermixed. a tad smokey. I enjoyed the 03 Weir Vineyard right out of the bottle so i guess this shows me that these need to sit for a while. eventually became a 90 but i would wait or decant for a long while with the expectation that it will be much better and enjoying it later won't take so much work.
