    2002 Paul Hobbs Napa Cabernet1/2/06 paid $56

Decanted for about 3 hours before pouring the first glass although I did give it a nice sniff when I poured it into the decanter (nice). Rich, ripe and full bodied currant, plum, licorice, chocolate, and a nice earthiness (tobacco). Sweet generous tannins and a wonderfully plush feel in the mouth. Decant if you want to drink it now. Should be a real beauty in a couple of years but it is very hard to resist now. 94-95 (94 pts.)

More of the same...very balanced and lush...will get better in a couple more years...solid 94...not silky enough for 95 big ones...

Dark intense aromas of currant, cassis, licorice - plush on the palate with generous mid-palate and a long finish. Full bodied and showy, but still pretty refined. A very good Cabernet - decant for 1-2 hours if you can. (92 pts.)

Had this out of a magnum last weekend, drinking quite well, coming together nicely without any awkward components. Most enjoyable.
