Tasted at the Victorville get together on 4/19/03.

2001 Rosenblum Syrah, Abba Vineyard; Wow! Glass-staining opaque black. Warm, sweet fruit of blackberry and sweet pomegranate, black pepper, menthol, and mocha-tinged tannins. This Lodi vineyard is only seven years old. Very impressive! HDW 92 $16.99

My rating 88 points. I was not as impressed with this wine as the other tasters. It was a very good bottle of wine, and a good value, but not up to the level of the other wines. I would like to put this one side by side with the Cline Los Carneros of any vintage, but alas, I did not purchase any.

Mike
