Estate Bottled. 14.5% alcohol. $50. 350 cases produced. This two acre vineyard was planted with the Swan clone in 1982. Medium ruby red colored wine with gushing very Cote de Beaune style aromas of cherry, vanilla, mint, strawberry, slight pain grille, mesquite charcoal, and light herbs. Smooth in the mouth with full ripe fruit flavors and excellent length ending with fruit, slight Epoisses and mint. Delicious to drink now but experience with this vineyard suggests this wine will develop fully over the next five years and hold for a few years thereafter. Tasted blind this wine would be difficult to pick out as Californian in a field of Premier Cru Burgundy (reminds me of a more voluptuous Beaune Clos des Mouches from Drouhin). 90+ points. Not a concentrated or masculine wine but an elegant, gossamer, feminine style of Pinot. The best kind imo.
