| This wine was purchased on release, and the bottle was signed by Louis himself, who had intended the wine for his grandson to enjoy on his 21st birthday (the birth year being 1982, of course).
Today the wine is showing significant bricking, and the nose is a bit green, with juniper notes and a port-like aspect. On the palate, the wine is hollow and thin, having long since lost all its fruit and faded into a lifeless shadow if what it may once have been. There is no finish to speak of, but with air the nose actually improved significantly – gaining intensity, but also gaining that port-like character. Even with air however, the palate remained thin and lifeless. | | | 2008: the end of an error |
