I had this sit in the bottle for about an hour before drinking.
The nose was of strong earth aromas.
The first taste was of dark berry flavors with very nice acidity.
It had a good overall balance with textures typical of sangiovese.
While this will never be mistaken for a real Italian Chianti,
it was a good example of a Cal-Ital sangiovese.
An enjoyable drink.
