- USA, California, Sonoma County (9/16/2005)
Wow, what a wine. The color is deep ruby like the ruby slippers in the Wizard of Oz, and the wine is fantastic, like it has come from Oz. It has a super rich nose of pepper, fruit and spice. The palate is mouth coating with a full body, great complexity and balance, and a finish that goes on for minutes. This is super stuff. I couldn't be happier with it.

Great to hear. unfortunatly, I have only 1 bottle
and was wondering when to open this guy. I've heard that it needs 4-6 in the decanter. Would you agree? Should I hold off a bit more?
TIA

This was my only bottle also. I opened it and directly poured it and followed it over two hours. It didn't soften much over that time. I do think this will last a long time if you want to wait, but it is certainly drinkable now if you have someone you want to impress. A few hours in the decanter won't hurt it a bit but I don't really think it is necessary.

$38, Mailing List.
A great bottle of wine, you can drink or hold. No rush @ all though, but not a crime to open up & decant. Parker rated 92-95, this is my 2nd bottle, I rated the 2 bottles 92 & 93. But, this is leaning towards a 93 pointer which is a great value for the money.
