Don't remember '84 being heralded as a vintage to remember. Fill into the neck. Medium brick red in color with a big nose of red cherry, plum, dill, charred oak, dried tobacco. On the palate the wine doesn't match the nose. Tart cherry fruit is fading and will never outlast the tannin which is still rough and granular. Nearly full bodied, with a full finish, which is good, but the wine just doesn't have any balance. Drink now or hold forever for a morning tea about 2050 when the tannin finally integrates. 84 points. When I get around to doing a complete Dominus verticle, this won't be a star!
