| Decanted 1 hour. Consumed over 2.5 hours. Closed and muted at first. With time, this revealed roses, black tea and strawberry preserves. Full and concentrated, this seems properly oaked, providing a bit of chocolate on the finish. Very nice, and will get better. 92 pts, but give it time. | | | Beta testing a new signature. |

| Bud...I do believe (hope I don't get into trouble from Michael) ...the single vineyard 2003's (Kanzler, Koplen, Cohn) are coming out late summer/early fall. I can't wait! Andrew | | | |

Andrew
This is probably the one mailer I am most excited about this year.

| Andrew is right. The vineyard designates will be offered in June/July for a September 1 release. Our appellation line will be offered as soon as I can get the mailer completed (about 7-10 days from now). I will have all of the wines at World of Pinot Noir (with something under the table ) and Dan will be pouring all of the wines at the winery this weekend. If you want to stop by the winery please e-mail Dan. dkosta@kostabrowne.comThe appellation offering will be offered to our entire mailing list at one time. The vineyard designate offering will be offered to our List of Designates in June without too many restrictions. Once we have figured out how much the List of Designates has ordered we will then offer the vineyard designates to the rest of the mailing list with, most likely, allocations. We are holding the majority of these wines for our mailing list so hopefully we will have enough to go around. We are down on the Cohn and Kanzler by about 100 cases each for this vintage. The case productions for these wines are: Cohn: 250, Kanzler 260, and Koplen 135. Please let me know about any questions and I hope to see some of you this weekend. My 4 year-old son Logan is on my lap and really wants to put up a funny face and type his name so here it is. logan Also, thanks for all of the support and enthusiasm for our wine on this board. We really appreciate it. | | | |

| Michael: Any chance that you could gravitate toward the shipping system that Ed used for the August West wines? His came right to my door, no problem. But I still need to double ship yours. Maybe by the fall, the Supreme Court will make this a moot issue. If not, is Ed's distribution model an option for you? | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| Very nicely done, Logan.
Michael - I noticed recently that Kosta Browne will be one of the wineries at a New Orleans Wine and Food Experience Vintner's Dinner at Ralph's on the Park on May 25th. Will you and/or Dan be in attendance? I'm really looking forward to the event.

| JIMMYV,
Yes. we are looking into the same shipping company Ed uses for is non-compliant states. I hope to have all of the information on the next mailer. We are also thinking about using New Vine Logistics. Any comments from anyone?
wineaux,
Dan is planning on being there but I will not. I heard is it a good event. Have you been there in the past?

| I have not yet received New Vine Logistics pricing. What we might do is use them only for the states that the other company will not ship to. I know the company Ed uses will not ship everywhere. One thing I am concerned with is letting a third party ship our wine. More chances for mistakes but I geuss there are no other options. By the time we have every shipping detail dialed in and have paperework and compliance materials coming out of our ears, the market will open up. This shipping thing is enough to drive a man to drink. What should I have? | | | |

| Michael, Open up a barrel of 04, give it a try, and let us know how it's doing. If you feel daring, make it syrah!!! | | | |

But it is still cheaper than paying to ship to Colorado, and then have it shipped from Colorado to the east coast. I have found that NVL still beats double shipping. I have control over the wine, and don't have to inconvenience a wine enabler. For those who don't like the NVL pricing, opt for the old way. But don't throw the baby out with the bath water. For many of us, the higher price is still the best and only way to get allocated wines not otherwise available in the marketplace. | | | Beta testing a new signature.

| Very vice pinot & as wineaux said, it is well-balanced. I would hold this as I think it will improve with time. 90+, hold. | | | |
