How about ***WOW****WOW***and **WOW**
Had this with the best steak I have ever tasted at a birthday dinner for my wife on Thursday night. Purchased in I think 1993/94 for what was at that time the outrageously expensive price of $65-so I only bought 3 (sigh).Decanted one hour before I brought it to the resaurant and it was full-throttle from the first sip instead of the 'last glass syndrome' as I call it. It is definately ready with a fabulous nose , seamless mid-palate and long succulant finish. Point score? At least the 96 RP gave it but I think even higher now. I guess the Cal Cabs can age gracefully as some have wondered. No corkage charged (never asked for a waiver)but another case for sharing a glass with the owner/chef; as well as a glass of the 2001 Loring Gary's Vineyard we brought with my appetizer and salad. The Loring was showing very well after being double-decanted the day before.
Sadly only one bottle left, perhaps a special occassion ? My 10 year wedding anniversary is only three weeks away !
