Meant to try this sooner so I could buy more if we liked it, but didn't and now I don't think I can get more around here. As soon as I opened the bottle, I knew this was not your typical merlot, the bottom of the cork was stained a dark purple and as I poured a glass I noticed a thick sediment had stuck to the shoulder of the bottle. These are things I usually see in a Cab. I poured a glass and took a sip and let it sit, initial tastes where that it was a very concentrated merlot bursting with flavors. Left the bottle open and wine in the glass for about 45 minutes before sitting down with it, my wife went in and poured a glass and came into the room and says "This is good!" I think I paid around $23 for this one.

Now for the notes sorry for all the stage setting. Dark ruby color nearly opaque in the middle. Nice dark fruits on the nose smoky black cherry, plum, cedar. In the mouth it had initial black spicy fruits, a little meatiness, with some spice and toasty oak notes, slight hint of mint on the finish but didn't ditract and some ripe full tannins. I drank a couple of glasses, finishing last one about 3 hours after opening and the wine had become far more supple and round. The flavors in this wine were dense and complex but hard for me to put a finger on the dominant ones, they were not as obvious as some but this wine really makes you think and is a serious merlot. In my opinion this stuff could really handle 2 or 3 years in the cellar and all of the complexities might really shine. I would give this wine 91pts.

If you could work out the shipping logistics I am sitting on two cases I would sell some of to you. I agree it is a nice Merlot at a great price.
