| This is a real tough question. I'm always excited with any offering. Here are the most "exciting" (I guess):
Aubert (the chard is tops in my book)
August West (sooooo good; I can't get enough!)
Bressler (a wonderful cab and now the pinot; can't get enough)
Brogan (Margi does good and soon something new from Burt)
Freeman(love the pinot and the chard is outstanding!)
Inman(her pinot just keeps getting better and better and she uses screw tops)
Keefer (never had a wine from the vineyard that I didn't love)
Kistler cuvées (and the regular stuff ain't that bad too)
Kosta Browne (duh!)
Pisoni (don't sign up for this grand cru pinot; I want it all)
Rivers Marie(after a few years this is the best pinot in the house)
Roar (shhhh!)
Rochioli (it's Rochioli!)
SQN (just reading the novelette that is the offering is exciting)
Williams Selyem (the mid '90s stuff is drinking soooo good right now)
There are also a couple of new smaller wineries that I watch like Small Vines and Morlet.

I'll just have to drink some of yours David. After the first release (two vintages at once).......they were so god awful I decided not to buy again. Are they really that much better than the first two vintages? I mean we are talking absolute crap from those first two years!

| Breaking down the rest of David's list: Aubert: Too expensive. I'll take Varner, Freeman or White Burg any day over this. August West: No brainer....buy all you can. Bressler: Thank god he makes Pinot.....I love the dude......and want to drink his wine! Brogan: Overpriced and not up to snuff with other Pinot producers Freeman: I hear their winemaker is quite good!
Inman: I've not tried them since two Freeman parties ago when David brought the stuff. Have to try again! Keefer: Wow is this good fruit!
Kistler: Some of the best Pinot I've ever had....but damn are these expensive! Kosta Browne: Who? Do these guys still make Pinot?
Pisoni: I only wish I was allocated more. Roar: I hear their winemaker is good! Rochioli: The best Pinot I've ever had (2001 Little Hill)....must buy all I can...second mortgage be damned!
SQN: Pricey....not on the list....so when we are having dinner again David?? Williams Selyem: I buy pretty much all I'm allocated. Some of the best bargains and most consistent Pinot of ANY producer.

| Rivers-Marie is probably my favorite pinot producer too and one of the few mailers that I look forward to (SQN is another even though I have to piggyback). I think they have improved, but there was nothing amiss with the first two vintages. They just need age like all R-M wines (sort of the polar opposite of KB I fear). | | | |

It's his austere style v. the fruit bomb. Two extremes. I don't really understand why but many people like one or the other and never the twain shall meet. I go both ways. I love Rivers Marie and I love Kosta Browne; two different styles of wine making.
One of the best Pinots I've had this year was the '02 Suma Old Vines. When it was new it was pretty bad but now at six years old it is drinking very very good.
