I'm sure many of you already get the email update from Wine Library, but just in case...

They now have the 1999 Guigal Chat. Du Pape available, limit 2 per person, $29.99, or $23.99 when mix-and-matching a case.

This is a WS 93 and a Parker 91 I believe. There are mixed reviews from most tasters here but if you get it at $23 I think it's a buy (then sell it for $50 if you don't like it).

I've been trying to call for the last 20 minutes and get only a busy signal. It also looks like their website has crashed. Looks like a good marketing idea gone bad. We'll see what happens later.

i have known gary from the wine library for quite some time. i have warned him in the past about these type of emails. you can't get through on the phones and his site crashes. it tends to turn off his regular customers that don't cherry pick. for example i need to speak to him about an unrelated matter and i cannot get through.

FYI all,

Wine Library's site is now back up and running and showing that the Guigal CHdP is sold out. What a bunch of BS.

FYI...The BEST way to reahj them is Web-site via Chat-link. They get right-back to you. They are going through it fast & there is a 2 bottle Limit.

Like ojeffso said...
E-mails like that don't do a lot of good for their 'regular' customers.
This isn't the first time this has happened to them.

I won't even see that email until I get home. A lot of good it did me.

TCK,
At least now you won't get home, get all excited, frantically try to contact them, and spend the rest of the evening pouting.
That's already been taken care of by your good friends at....

Mdriver,
In reply to:

I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking that I want all your jobs, when you have all this free time at work to surf the world wine web. Then I though. "hmm. I do!"

Hmm, must remind myself from time to time:

My job does not include posting on wine boards
My job does not include posting on wine boards
My job does not include posting on wine boards

It's when I put recent wine aquisitions in my status report that I'm REALLY in trouble

Eric, you're ability to find wine deals all around the country is amazing - have you set up spiders crawling the web for deals?
