Just got an e-mail from Parry Cellars. They only have 190 cases of their 2001 cab, which they'll release this fall. They say that they will give preference to people who bought their 1999 or 2000 cabs and that newbies likely will be shut out. You can, however, buy some left over 2000s now to secure your position on 2001s.
I've never had their wine -- would it be wise to pay $40 each for a couple bottles of 2000 for the chance to buy the 2001s this fall? I'm dubious (and not a fan of semi-extortion tactics), but also don't want to be kicking myself in a few months for missing out one something special. TIA for insights and advice!

You'll be able to find the 2001 without much problem - Parry Cellars is not exactly setting the world on fire. They have a lot of 2000 still left to sell.
The 190 case production is misleading given the small size of their vineyard. FYI, you can see it just east of the Trail and south of Chateau Boswell if you are interested.

I got the email. They recommended that I try to ship to a relative who doesn't live in Pennsylvania.
