| Very proud to announce I am offically on the Kosta Browne allocation list!! Now don't be jealous, and I don't plan to share... I was on the waiting list for over 2 years. Just got my shipment in yesterday... the tasting notes sound great, I have not seen any scores on this years release as of yet.. I'm sure they will be very good ! They will lay down for a year or two before I open'em up. I was able to select the following: 2006 Pinot Noir - Russian River Valley (750 ml)2006 Pinot Noir - Sonoma Coast (750 ml) at @ $48.00 each. I was able to get 2 of ea. A good value considering the consistently high scores and lack of everyday availibilty. Cheers everyone! | | |

| Geez, are we the only ones excited to be getting a wine of this consistent caliber? Or is the allocation list really that limited? Anyway enjoy! Life is too short to drink bad wine! | | | |

| Interesting - due to bad weather my KB ended up in San Antonio tonight when it should have been in DFW. KBs are a travelin'. | | | |

Wish I was in San Antonio tonight. I could rent a car, grab your KB and hand deliver it to you tonight instead of sitting in this hole.

Sorry,
I am a relative newbie to wine, just in the last 4 years. I am pretty happy to finally get my KB wish list fulfilled and opportunity for an allocation. Thanks for understanding!
Cheers

| I am surprised that you only had a 2 year wait, that is great. These are splendid wines, buy as much as you can afford.

Precisely why I am thrilled I'm not on the KB list. After trying several bottles through the generosity of others (and at offlines, and at KB), I'm convinced that my daughter would not be taking ballet lessons... as the budget would get redirected. Great stuff, thank god I'm not on it. Had to drop another list that I really, really liked and it really sucked.

But what about the Kosta+Browne children...no Christmas for them? | | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is

| Last night Drew brought a couple of big juicy Rochiolis which were outstanding (and not inexpensive ). I wish I would have brought some KB but I just didn't think of it. Indeed they are somewhat different styles but are definitely on the same side of the "spectrum". Next time we'll just have to do a blind tasting. I don't really mean to say one is better than the other; I do defy anyone that says that though. Everybody just has to understand that there are several different styles of wines made from the Pinot Noir grape; wouldn't it be terrible if they all tasted the same? Personally I enjoy ALL styles of these wines (from thick to thin; from big to little; from fruit to water>). Inside of each profile there are those that are better than others but I just don't like it when someone is so dogmatic to say that one well-made Pinot in a different style is "better" than a well-made Pinot in another style.
KB wines are #1 on my list for there style. There are hundreds of Burgundys that are in that same style that I enjoy too. And if I may say I really enjoy Joe Davis' Pinots along with the Burgundys made in that style too... and everything in between. I've never met a well-made Pinot I didn't like. I'll shut up now!

| | Is Joe Davis the guy from Arcadian? Corkage, JohnnyB and I had a bottle of one of Arcadian's lesser wines off of a restaurant list a couple of months ago. I thought it was fantastic (my first time to try). I am pretty much full up on pinots (pretty sad when you can't even buy Littorai), but that is a winery that I'd consider if I had room. That said, I have never encountered a Burgundy in the KB style. Not saying that they are not out there, I just haven't run across one. | | | |

| | Yes - Joe is Arcadian - They have a Grand Cru Society (secret handshake optional) that is the only "club" I belong to. They ship as many bottles as you select of 2 different wines 4-5 times/year. You can also order off the list and they give you a 20% discount. He also makes some great syrah and chard. | | | |
