| Looks like I am in Wave II. Don't know what my allocation will be, and it looks like they do not ship to CT. They appear to be allocating three bottles per person. If in fact my allocation is three bottles, here is what I am offering/proposing. I buy and pay for three bottles. I will pay for shipping to your state, and any applicable taxes. You keep one bottle for yourself and send two to me. And if the wine comes in any fancy wooden case, you get to keep that. Here are the conditions. The offering is only available to reputable and long-standing members of this board, as I will be fronting money. You must supply a valid shipping address in one of the states to which they ship. Those are: CA, CO, DC, IA, ID, IL, MN, MO, ND, NM, OR, TX, WA, WI, WV. You will pay release price for your bottle ($150), plus the pro-rated cost of any tax, and the pro-rated cost of shipping for one bottle. You will ship my two bottles to me in a manner to be determined. If it is still cool when the wine arrives, I will not insist on overnight. But the shipping must be done by some trackable method. You will absorb the cost of the second shipping cost from you to me. If my allocation is two bottles or less, this offer is rescinded. Let me know if anyone is intersted before the commencement of the offering, which is 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11. This offer is sort of first-come, first served. If there are multiple takers who reply close to the same time, I reserve the right to select the individual with whom I will conduct this transaction. So there you have it. For the price of mailing two bottles to me, you can have a bottle of Scarecrow at release price. | | | Beta testing a new signature. |

| Of course you do, Gus. PM me a shipping address and as soon as the offer is open, if it is for 3 bottles, I will put it in and be in touch. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| If the allocation is higher than 3 bottles, could a Grape Picker squeeze in for 1?

| It won't be. Wave I was for 3 bottles. No way Wave II is for more than that. A thread on e-bob contains reference to an e-mail string someone had with the winery directly where the winery professed to wanting to get as many people off the waiting list as possible by holding allocations to 3 bottles. (Of course, Laube's blog on Scarecrow also stated that the winery is intent on holding the price at $150. Time will tell). | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| This is weird. I got a postcard, I can buy the wine between Midnight March 21 until Midnight March 30 ? Seems very strange to me.
Highly unlikely I will remember to order at midnight March 21, so I'm guessing this will be a default "pass".

| I received the same card. I guess this is the "wave III" postcards. With all of the buzz and hype around this wine, I'm definitely curious and will buy what ever is offered.
JimmyV - what was the allocation for the wave II? Were you offered 3 btls?

| I got the card and I'll probably pass. Interesting note. On the other board, I've said I was probably passing on this and on the Screaming Eagle offer. I got more PMs wanting my Scarecrow than my SE.

| Dave, right? $150 is not all that far away from QC pricing (or vice versa!).
But either way, I'm not too surprised...Scarecrow definitely has all of the hype right now...I just missed the cut for the 2005 but am optimistic about 2006.
BTW, CWG, PM sent!

| Posted By Dave on 03/18/2008 10:50 PM Hmmm.... $150 vs. $750.... Ok, you got me. I can't figure this one out. Right now 2 bottles of 2005 Screaming Eagle are going for $2,600 on wine commune. Guess that solved my dilemma, I'm buying and flipping. SE is still the #1 California cult wine....
The 2005 Scarecrow is going for $327 - $450. Might just have to flip these too......

| Ordered my 3-pack. Shipping was pretty steep - $32 for UPS Ground to travel about 50 miles. That OWC better be really heavy. I passed on their offer for Scarecrow gold jewelery -- I wonder how much of that stuff they sell. | | | |

| was surprised to be offered a 3-pack. since the spring wine funds were already stretched to the limit i will probably flip one to cover most of the cost. just have to figure how to get it to NH. | | | |

Low and behold, I am now offered an allocation...
Am purchasing.
