This is one of those producers I have bought from for a few years and have yet to actually try their wine. 05 Howell Mtn Petite Sirah -- $35 (6) 05 "The Other" PS -- $50 (6) 05 Howell Mtn Cab Sauv -- $65 (6) 05 "True Vineyard" Cab Sauv -- $85 (6) They've been hyping their True Vineyard for quite a while and this is the first release (it's a new vineyard). I let my Advocate sub expire because I only read the California reports. Any news on these guys?

I purchased both of the petites. I'm way overbooked on cab right now. I have yet to actually drink an Outpost PS yet. I'm certainly looking forward to these.

If anyone has any info on the $85 True Vineyard Cab, whether it's first hand, or anything written, rated, or mused, I'd love to know. That's too much to blindly plunk down on.

I had the 05 True out of the bottle at the winery two weeks ago. I found it to be structured, but very elegant for mountain fruit - the standout of the wines you mention. The other wines showed a lot of pepper notes, not a flaw just not my cup of tea. Also tasted the 06 from barrel and it was a step up from the 05.

I've made arrangement for about a dozen of us to try the True Cab at a dinner on the 15th, will report back.
