I forgot that I signed up for this.

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir $48 a bottle

I don't think I will be buying, but has anyone ever tried? I've only had the A.P and KB wines from this vineyard.

Looks like a clear buy to me.  Estate fruit too.  That is the wave of the future.

Last year I purchased a mixed case of 2004 and 2005 - I haven't been all that happy with them, to me, clumsy and needs time (hopefully). Quite disappointed with them.

I tasted the 2006 last October. A bit disjointed then but showing a lot of promise. 12 is a bit much though. I'm going to go for six.

A few data points from another board:

I recently had a Kanzler, not KB, but Kanzler 2005 Sonoma Coast and I had a bad experience with it also. It said pinot on the label but it sure as hell didn't taste like it. I would have picked it blind for a syrah. It was like drinking cough syrup. My mind was wanting a pinot but my tongue got something else. Have you had one of these? BTW, I have only had one KB Kanzler and I thought it was great.

Kanzler
2005 Sonoma Coast - sweet, syrupy, IHOP wine, yuck. 83
Peay
Lovely suite of wines
2005 Chardonnay - Explosive, rich, great depth, nice minerality and acidity. Oak present but not protruding. California Chardonnay can never be white Burgundy, but it can be this. 93
2005 Pinot Pomarium - elegant bing cherry, touches of raspberry, some earth, nice balance. Fine and refined. 92
2005 Pinot Scallop Shelf - somewhat darker profile, earthier, some nice sweetness to hold it together. 92
