| Snail mailer just arrived: 3-packs: $405 Magnums: $345 each In the context of Napa Cab. prices I suppose this would be considered a "modest" price increase (what was the '04? I have the '03 at $110, but skipped '04). | | | 2008: the end of an error |

| Damn, $135/per these days, damn. Eric, my last Merus purchase was the 02 release. I paid $120/per with tax & S/H included in that price. Now, $135/per then the tax + s/h charges. I estimate $160 or so per bottle by the time it gets to NJ. Glad my last purchase was the 02. | | | |

| Just went in the recycler. Uncle bob rates it a 96, but still not worth it to me anymore. Too much wine! | | | |

| Passing. This is pass number two for me so I'll be dropped. This is a hard one. 2005 Merus for $135 or 1982 Talbot for $110. | | | |

I haven't bought since 03 and they send it every year. Seems like a form letter offer. | | | TN posted on Cellartracker"

| My goal of trimming >$100 Cabs means that this one is going to take a dive. It was on my short list of keepers, but Mrs. V just isn't Wow-ed by this wine the way one has to be to justify the price. Unless we both love it, I can't pay this price for a wine. I think I will be moving my budget for this wine over to Realm, hoping that their highly rated Cabs come in at or under $100. If anyone, anywhere wants this, let me know. I will have it shipped directly to you. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| I think it was LCC that asked... how many >$100 cabs do you need in your cellar? | | | |

| I'm on the fence with this one...I enjoy Merus but like everyone else I too am finding it hard to justify...I am expecting some new cash flow so I may bite... | | | |

| Haven't bought since the 2001 and, despite the 3 strikes declaration, I'm still getting an offer. Hard times in Babylon? | | | |

| Not sure if this is rational, but the purchase of this operation by Bill Foley has decreased my desire to own it. It sort of loses the "garagiste" romance that drew me to it in the first place. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

Actually, his purchase is one of the only reasons I want to buy the '05. As production at Merus increases - which is hinted at in the letter - subsequent to Foley's ownership we may never see the same level of quality again...
(that and the fact they tout the '05 as their best ever...)

Mark and Erika. Why did you think they sold the winery? Have to turn those "liquid assets" into liquid assets. (Sorry, couldn't resist)
