| | I've bought for the last 3 years, but last year was for someone else and unless anyone wants my allocation, I'm done. | | | |

| | I find the IX much more extracted than the Cariad or Tychson Hill - and for me, not as good. | | | |

| | I just made the list. It's a pass for me. $275 is too rich for my blood and too many other offers coming down the line. | | | |

| I made this list a couple of years ago and passed then. I really have a hard time justifying that kind of money per bottle on wine. With the higher prices come much higher expectations and frankly I rarely find the results commensurate with the ridiculous prices which usually results in a big letdown. Worse than that I find it hard to justify popping bottles I paid that much for.   It's kind of a vicious circle from which I've made the decision to remove myself. Same for Harlan Estate, Sloan & Hillside Select.Â

| | How long have you been buying to be offered the IX Syrah? I have purchased the 2003 and 2004 IX Estate, as well as the 2004 Cariad, but no Syrah offer for me.
Another thought...Is this the most expensive CA Syrah? | | | |

I believe that this is the most expensive Syrah out of CA. The other ones that I know of that are close in price are Araujo (2004 - $110) and Kongsgaard (2004 - $150).

| | I nibbled on this. I've never had a Colgin IIRC, and will have to try one this year. Fortunately, if I do not like it, there appears to be a good aftermarket. That has become my criteria for taking an allocation; if I don't love it, can I get rid of it without taking a bath? | | | |

| | That is becoming a factor for me as well. I bought 6 bottles of the 98pt (RP) '04 Colgin IX Cab and 3 bottles of the Syrah. A year later, I might be able to get what I paid for the wine after commissions. | | | |
