| I have to think about this one a bit now that (as I read it) all orders have CA sales tax and no shipping to NH. | | Mike Coutu Addicted to Wine | |

| I'm hoping it is just a confusing way of saying that you have to pay CA tax if you take possession in CA. I've never had to pay CA tax in the past from anyone else. I sent Shane an e-mail asking about it and will fax my order when he replies. | | | |

| Din... please let us know. I'm holding off until I find out what the deal is with the tax. If I buy 6 bottles, ship 2-day air, AND have to pay sales tax, we're talking $50 per bottle!!! | | | |

| I'm in for 1 of each. I'm trying to cut back but don't want to miss out completely on this one. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't sell out quickly on this offer.

Yep....particularly when I asked for 6 of each! I then asked for 18 of the Rose of Syrah. I had last year's version....and it's one of the best Rose's I've ever had. We went through a case in no time at all! Chris

These are huge Syrah's.....I'd give them at least a year......if not longer. Just vicariously live off of those who can't resist opening one.....you'll be much happier in the long run. Chris

| Actually, I was thinking that the Rose would be approachable. I certainly expect to hold the syrahs for at least a year, and probably longer.
Besides, TJ and I have way too many wines to try together that are ready now to worry about opening any that are not ready yet.

| I tried Shane's wines last July, but it was after a tasting of roughly 40 grenache based wines (and some starters) so I wasn't taking detailed notes. But I was high on both the Anderson Valley (Valenti Ranch) and Bennett Valley (Jemrose) syrahs, and also thought the Sonoma Coast blend was quite good. The Valenti and Jemrose are both cool climate type syrahs. I struck me back then that the Jemrose had come together as a wine a bit more than the Valenti, but they were both young. We also tasted a Rose from him but I didn't note which vintage and I didn't write anything intelligible in my notebook (although that may be par for the course for me).

Chris Chris, Can you give any other input about the offering, notes or general impressions on the wines, it sounds like the rose' is a go......... Well, keep in mind that I tried them as we were bottling them, as my family worked the bottling line. Still, they were showing much better during bottling than they were a month later when I popped a Gemrose. Suffice it to say half the Gemrose bottle was left for the next day, and it was much better then...but still needed time! Still, all of these Syrah's have that bacon fat characteristic I simply love.....if a wine has bacon fat in it...I buy it....this is a huge no brainer for me..... The "Unknown" is a blend of Gemrose, Valenti, and Kick Ranch.....so really....with any of these wines you can't go wrong. They are all excellent. They are just huge Syrah's......think of KB Pinot and how huge they are....now take it up a notch with Syrah and there you go....Shane Wines! That's not to say they aren't balanced and lovely...they are.....but they need time to find their place....at least that's my impression. The Rose of Syrah from 2006 was just incredible.....wonderful acidity.....fruit forward.....wow....I just loved this wine. We got a case for helping Shane bottle.....it was gone 6 weeks later...and I asked Shane if I could buy more but it was gone. He told me the 07 Rose is just as good....I took his word for it. Lets hope I get the 18 bottles I asked for....because frankly it's become a Friday night wine for me....as in EVERY Friday night I pop this bottle to celebrate the weekend. Yummy! Damn...got my mouth watering just thinking about how good it is! Chris
