Decided to pass on the entire allocation after I saw the pinot was sold out.  I had bought three out of the past four vintages but was still on the second tier.  I know.....you snooze, you lose.  I will concentrate my limited funds elsewhere.

Funny how one guy wouldn't buy the Cab because now there is a Pinot; and someone else won't buy the Cab because they couldn't get the Pinot.  Proof that you just can't please everybody!

Thats kind of funny.  You bought 3 of the last 4 vintages of a Cabernet from a Cab producer.  You find out that a Cab producer made a small batch pinot in the last month.  The pinot from a Cab producer sells out, you pass on the entire allocation of a Cab producers Cab that you have bought for 3 years because the pinot is gone?

Maybe I am the only one chuckling about that.

There are very few universal truths in life however one of them is that no matter what a winery does when it comes to making an offering some group of people will not like it.

Yeah, but that guy sure stuck it to Bob since he didn't have any Pinot left!  Take that Bob!  How dare you try to offer something special and not make it available to everybody!

Speaking of which....where is my offering??  You better offer me some Pinot or no way I'm even trying your Cab.....much less buying it!

Well you guys don't know that guy and all of the circumstances behind why he declined. I do and I fully understand why he declined to buy from this mailer.

Cryptic comments don't help either. Coherent explanations work pretty well.

I concur.

WIML, would you care to elaborate? I understand the disappointment on the pinot, I have not received my Bressler offer yet. But the only thing that would keep me from purchasing would be a huge price increase. But I am speculating idly.

Hope that mailer comes soon Bob, or I will be out of funds!

Passing (sadly).  I thought the pinot was a nice touch.  A 25 case production feeds into the competitive urges that we all share.  Also nice to see a winery bucking the inexorable trend and using non-estate fruit!

I can only go off of what was offered to the forum.  What I saw was "no pinot for me, so I'm not buying anything".  If he offered more details, perhaps we'd understand.  We can only go off of what is posted....right?  Sorry, I left my mindreading brain at work.....it's a three day weekend after all.

He explained the "circumstances" quite clearly. No Pinot left, so he's no longer interested in the Cab.  We are completely justified in assuming that anyone who takes the time to post has stated his reasons and intentions in that post and does not have some hidden agenda or undisclosed reasoning.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Bressler,

If'n I don't get magnums of pinot next year, I'm passing on the whole freakin' offering. You self-serving, Bordeaux-varietal-growin'-mf'er can stuff your cabernet where the irrigation don't drip!

However, I would like to get some inside help on where to get some fabulous shoes! Can you help me? And, what's the magic word to get some discounts so those things wind up in my price range?

With consternation & a smidge of gratitude,

Your bipolar customer,

Me.

Cheers, y'all

hmm - using the wine to irrigate the vines.  Perpetual motion?
