As an FYI - Bert, at Joseph George in SJ, is sitting on 2 cases of 2003 Foley Claret at $115 a bottle.  Low price on winesearcher is $135, most at >$150.  He just did a tasting with Bob in the store, which is why the prices are so low...

??? Drew, the only reason (in my experience) Bert has prices that low is if he didn't like the wine. Do you know otherwise?

my foley is showing up next week, both claret and merlot. Sure hope it shows well.

Talked to him for a bit and he said he had a lot to clear (2 cases). Don't know if Bob had anything to do with the pricing, as I know he's fixed prices lower than normal in the past because of a winemaker's request. He did say it wasn't reviewed as highly as it normally is ( implying he can't charge 4x for it :-D), but that he thought it was still fantastic. I thought WA gave it a 96, which counts as "high" for me.

Me, too! I only spent that much on a bottle because I had to fill out your bottles for the cab event, damnit! I'd rather buy 2 bottles of MATCH!
