.  It takes so long for this window to open in order to reply that I usually forget my thought.  However, having just received a most generous offer from another forumite to share his allocation of KB, I think a little off-line might be in order to have dinner and a tasting. What ever date we all agree on will surely be most successful. Note that his allocation doesn't arrive until late November so perhaps a mid Dec. or early January in the Dallas area might be perfect.  Dinner will be my treat.  Absolutely.
You guys are great!  Really Great for your most awesome generosity.
Now, will someone sell just one of their Screaming Eagles?  Have to try that once as well.
(or '47 Cheval's....ok, ok...I pushed it too hard there.)

David,  that is an offer I intend to take you up on the next time I am headed in your direction.  I can't think of anything more fun than finally meeting you and seeing your awesome cellar.

Remember though, I am a little more centered than as far West as you think.

Now, if I could just find Sonapa-Noma on my Rand-McNally.....

Silly, silly me!  My dexlexia, ADD and OCB got the best of me again.  I should have known to look backwards to go forward while searching for a map to keep me focused in a cetain direction.Â
Thank Goodness my new vehicle has a navigation system.  Not that it does any good since I don't know how to implement the damn thing.

I forgot about the Nand.
Really, the RicMally is all I need!!!

Do you think I can get a refund on the Navigation system if I mention your name along with the benefits of the NRM map?

You open up a bottle of Screagle and I WILL FIND a Sonapa-Noma to drink it at, even if it's me sitting on the side of 101 with a cardboard sign reading "Sonapa-Noma, population 1" ;-)

Screw you Drew!

Sorry. I couldn't help it.  It is just so doggerelish and onomonopoeic.

The offer ain't to you!

Once you've had a screagle, you never want for much anymore.

lac,  that simply isn't true.Â

Indeed I remember when I popped the first one.  It was exciting but the wine was not a socks-roller-downer/upper.  I had a bottle of Jone's Family at the same time and I thought the Jone's was better.

Drinking Screaming Eagle one has to "embrace" the whole experience.  Let the surroundings and the anticipation be the game 'cause 9 times out of 10 it ain't gonna be the taste that excites you.

I think I've had it 12, maybe 15, times.  It has always generated "excitement" but none of them came close to being "etherial".  I do remember two experiences with bottles of the '97 being big-time flawed.  But lord knows expensive bottles can be flawed just like cheap ones.  I did a tasting where we opened three bottles of '98 Marcassin Pinot and none of them were drinkable.

I don't drink much Cab anymore.  I will say though that last Thursday night I had what I thought was one of the best if not the best I've ever had (and it was a Bordeaux).  1961 Lunch Bag...  Simply amazing fruit!

Me and Cab...  I used to remember everytime I had a great bottle but all of these memories have taken a turn off Memory Lane for me.  The other thing is that it seems like I have to drink 100 bottles of Cab to get one that roll my socks.  With Pinot (and even white wines) it is more like one in 25.  And I very seldom find a Pinot that I want to PDTD.  With Cabs it happens as many times as it doesn't.
