Since I wasn't even offered any 2004, I don't expect to hear from Paloma until much later, if at all. Anyone know whether production is up from the 2004 vintage? If not, I'm probably SOL on this one.

Not to worry - with the declining popularity of merlot it should be relatively easy (and perhaps cheaper) to find Paloma Merlot at retail this year.

that may be so...but when i was there few weeks ago, they told me that they are cutting back the sales to their distributor even more than last year, so that they can move some people from waitlist

Speaking of moving people from the waitlist, I got my "List 2" letter yesterday.  I was offered 6 each of the merlot ($54) and the syrah ($45), although I was not offered a case discount.

I bought the case, and only have to pay $45 to ship to Missouri ... seems pretty fair compared to what other wineries who use a shipping processor charge.

Cheers, y'all
