I've been on the wait list for a while now, buying the secondary wines when offered.  I just got this email:

Thank you for your past support and patience in awaiting this offer of the HL Cabernet Sauvignon. Since several of our previous HL customers have not ordered their allocation in the allotted time, we have a few bottles left to share . . . on a first come, first served basis only.

The 2004 HL Cabernet Sauvignon is available only in 2 bottle packs and retails for $300.00/a pack, limit one. Because of a history of hot Septembers, we have scheduled to ship the wine in early October, weather permitting. The 2006 E II Napa Valley White Wine retails for $24.00/bottle, and is available in 3, 6 or 12 pack shipments. The white wine will ship immediately, as weather permits, for summer enjoyment.

All of our wine offers are made by personal emails to friends and customers. The information about the 2004 HL Cabernet Sauvignon and this order form are not available anywhere else, only to our previous and newly added HL customers and only at this time and through this email. If you order the 2004 vintage, you will remain on our list of HL customers and receive subsequent offers for future vintages. If you choose not to order, or wait too long and the wine sells out, we will return your name to the Wait List next year.

So what do you think, should I bite?  Who is on the list and loves the wines?

On the list, love the wine. The wording of the offer is interesting however, it does not seem clear that this guarantees you a spot on the mailing list for future releases...

I know these wines are generally pretty good but is it worth it to only have 2 bottles of each vintage in your cellar? Again I just do not understand that type of distribution. Is the intent to have as many people as possible be able to order them?

I'm thinking that it does.  It says if you don't order, you are returned to the waitlist.

I ordered.

There ae only 70-80 cases of this wine produced.

To be on their list is a priviledge.
