I like a lot of the people over on Wino Depot. That said, the BB should be renamed "IhateJonesWine.com". Or perhaps "IhateBrad.com". Lots of water under the bridge, with no clear moral high ground anywhere. I'm not taking sides, that is for sure.

Sure there are some posters over on Wino Depot that don't like Dan or Brad but nowhere near the bulk of the posters do so.  In return should we rename VinoCellar "wekissdansandbradsbutt.com"?Â

WIML - That was some pretty weak bait. As WinoDepot has aged, more posters do not care about Dan or VC. I was referring to the the start of WinoDepot, which was a mass migration away from VC. When WinoDepot started I tried joining in the fun, but not a day went by without a bash at Brad and/or Dan.

Considering you have prominently posted articles, perhaps the site should be renamed "WeKissJoesButt.com" ?

Not bait, a direct challenge to your statement that Wino Depot should be renamed ihatejones.com or ihatebrad.com.  I took offense to that statement.  Period.

For the record R2D2 and pyang created Wino Depot because they had grown tired of the uncontrolled antics on Wine Spectator.  They've publicly stated such.  It's only by happenstance that the big blow up on VinoCellar just happened to dove tail with the startup of Wino Depot and thus the migration of haters and non-haters alike.

Yes, I've prominently posted articles and tasting notes of 4 different boards equally.  No exceptions.  Maybe we should rename all these boards "WeKissJoesButt.com".  I kind of like the sound of that.  Yes, I'm making a joke.Â

You know something, in the end, conversations like this are virtually pointless.  There are people on this board that have deep seated opinions about other boards and posters just like their counterparts on other boards.  In my humble opinion they rarely yield.  It's more obstiance than debate.

Joe - Sorry if I offended you, I certainly wasn't intending to.  WinoDepot got a massive infusion of posters when VC had its blow up, that is how it got a quick boost.  At the time I agreed with those that left VC, but for some reason I wasn't cool enough over there.  These days, I agree with you, most over there don't care one way or another.  I will hazard a guess that SeanR7 is still bitter though

I'm glad there are multiple boards; WineSpectator is out of control.  eBob has become too political with various vigilantes waiting to jump on the latest bandwagon, so it is pretty worthless (shutting down the commerce board was a sign of the illness).  The smaller boards are the only place to have discussions that don't spin out of control.

Clearly the folks over on WinoDepot read here on VC.  Guess I'll be even less welcome there now

Tell you what - I'll skip ordering from a mailer in your honor   Friends again?

You're welcome to post on WD just like any other poster. Come on over and I'll welcome you there, on WS, eBob or WinExiles! I'm and equal opportunity poster!

Actually there is still commerce corner on EBOB. You have to be a paying member to see it.

Steve - the point on ebob commerce corner is that replies are no longer allowed. It turned into an absolute zoo, once an offer went up, there would commonly be 15-20 replies within an hour or two claiming the price was too high or low, the wine sucked or was great, etc. The replies were commonly very insulting, and Mark got sick of babysitting the section, so replies to posts are no longer allowed except by the original poster. This is very indicative of the problems over there.
