| I'm happy for Brian and share his enthusiasm for the wines...but anyone taste the 06s yet? Does anyone have an opinion? Overall vintage quality? Hard to believe we are talking about the 06s already...
The new on-line ordering system should be a treat!

| I'll second the request. I have been really trying to cut back this year, and based on recent Loring experiences, budgeted $0 for this producer this year. But I know that he is capable of some terrific wines as I have enjoyed several in the past. If '06 is really that good, I may have to dive in and cut something else. But in any event, I will have loads to share at cost 'cuz even if I bite, it will be for at most 6 bottles. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| Quite a long thread on eBob about this, with lots of input from Loring, Siduri, Perr and others. Long and short of it is that growing and harvest conditions in 2006 were very similar to those in 2005, so winemakers in that group "learned valuable lessons" and were able to apply them to the 2006 vintage. Then Loring and Testy started poking each other in the eye for three pages :-D | | | |

| Drew - I didn't see such a thread over on ebob. Has it been snipped? | | | |

Actually a great thread on the 06 vintage as it applies to the growers and winemakers in that circle (Loring, Lee, Kosta, Cargasacchi, Holdredge, Perr, etc.) --> Link Only downside is the sniping that goes back and forth between Brian and Paul, with Paul pointing out to the crowd that Brian's number one priority is to sell his wine, so he'll reserve judgment until he tries all of them. Overall, it's a good read outside of the wah wah's. That said, it wouldn't be eBob unless someone got their panties rolled up.

| I’m looking forward to the ‘06 Pinots. Early reports are that it’s a great vintage from the good producers (especially Oregon) and will cause most everyone to realize that the claims from those obsessed with low alcohol and high acidity to “back up the truck” were just that - an obsession. | | | |

| I will still likely buy my normal set. I feel that Brian's earlier mailers in off years have been honest, and I have always liked the way he conducted business. I am going to try to sneak in a few extra bottles this year.
Plus, all screwcaps, have to reward that.

| Too true about ebob and panties... Paul does not come off well in that thread. I really liked Paul's quote "And , ultra frankly, very few people give a crap as to my opinions." Gee, I wonder why that is?
I'll be buying a case or so. I like Brian's wines a lot, he's a good guy, shipping is included, the price is fair, and.. I like the wine!!

| After reading through the e-bob thread, I'm glad I read here instead! I put this up partly because I have not heard such enthusiasm from Mr. Loring before, and I respect his opinions, as well as his wines. Hell, it will only cost me $500 or so to find out...and a delicious task at that. | | | |

| As much as I'd like to order some Loring, I think it'll be a pass for me. I've vowed to not buy any more wine until I finally buy a proper storage thingie for all of my current wine plus a little extra room darn it. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Extra room? What does that mean? No matter how many posts I read before buying my Eurocave, I didn't believe any of them that it would be filled. It's a 270. But I'm not sure which is the culprit - learning from this board about wines I'd never have heard of, or buying the unit, and then having somewhere to store wines. | | | |

| Actually, I'm not sure I'll order... Brian doesn't use real corks, and apparently that is a negative to the environment: http://www.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/idUSL0663729820070805 | | | |
