Interesting but the Galitzine bottle would be $100 in the door with tax and shipping. No thank you.

Anyone have any experience with the 2004 Red?  The 2003 Red was my first QC offering, and frankly we've found it to be a very good wine for $35....

Also got an offer for the QC red.  Given it's in pick-up distance now that I'm in WA, any comments on it?

Pass. I'd like to see a tasting note on the Galitzine, but could not come up with anything.

Received. I will probably pass. Any one know if skipping this offer will affect the allocation of the Cab?

I had a little room in my wine budget this month so I changed my mind and ordered two of these.

Rumpel - here is a Tanzer tasting note. I'll delete this after a while. The scores are on the low side but Tanzer's scores very conservative.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Issue 129: November/December 2006
(2004 Quilceda Creek Vintners Cabernet Sauvignon Golitzine Vineyard Red Mountain) (100% cabernet sauvignon; the Goliztins planted this high-density vineyard in 2001; the wine will be labelled with the original spelling of the family name) Good ruby-red. Vinous aromas of cassis, chocolate and tar, with a blueberry topnote giving the nose lovely lift. Intense, nicely defined flavors of black fruits and minerals offer noteworthy freshness, and a tart dark berry tone lifts the finish, which features very suave tannins. A knockout in the making for a wine from such young vines. And there's no hard Red Mountain character here. Aged in all new Taransaud barrels. (91-93) points

I bought these and will probably subsidize the purchase by selling a couple of the the QCs from prior years.

Bad news for those predicting that QC would never get another high rating:  "I was able to retaste the 2001, 2002, and 2003 vintages and can only say that Monsieur Rovani’s notes and scores are right on the bulls-eye."

I was allocated and bought 2 bottles of the Galitzine.  I hope that means that I have finally cleared the list for the QC Estate.

As reviewed by Jay "Never met a Spanish wine he didn't like" Miller.Â

On the flipside this is good if I ever have to liquidate my QCs for any reason.  Not gonna happen but you can never say never.Â
